The South Node represents what we brought from past incarnations as knowledge, soul memory, experience and learned patterns.
The North Node, naturally being placed in an opposite Sign, denotes the path we need to follow in the current lifetime for evolutionary purposes so we don’t remain stuck in one type of experiential dynamic.
The North Node indicates the ‘out of the comfort zone’ realm demanding to become a priority in the Hero’s Journey.
The House position of the Nodes would reveal more about the environmental factors shaping the experiences we need to go through so we can master that energy.
Conjunctions of the South Node with planet or angle/s indicate karmic encounters and opportunities to make amends and heal something from the soul’s past.
Example: Venus conjunct SN means romantic relationships and material security will have to be experienced in a different way as something had been left unfinished and requires completion in this lifetime, to reach a new level of understanding. With that aspect partners or at least one special partner is part of one’s soul incarnation past – whatever needed to be done, given, accepted, forgiven will be done in this lifetime.
What to expect & what to focus on during NN in Aries/SN in Libra
The nodes shift demands to master the archetype of Aries–the leader, the warrior, the adventurer.
The North Node in Aries invites us to examine our own character and authentic needs in order to improve our skills necessary to relate and connect with others without sacrificing our personal identity.
This transit is a chance to learn that constantly pleasing and concerning oneself with others can be detrimental to one’s personal needs and ability to act decisively and in protection of healthy self-interest.
The focus goes on self-assertion, self-confidence and the ability for independence and self-reliance.
This is also a great time to work on personal evolution in order to become a better partner while honoring the inner warrior and adventurer.
The South Node in Libra is a call for reassessment of our relationship style and behavior as part of a couple.
Psychologically Libra represents the evolutionary imperative and related capacity ‘to hold the tension of opposites’ – the Jungian concept referring to keeping the balance within, by integrating the Anima & the Animus and resolving inner conflicts.
The task of the SN while it was in Scorpio included letting go and the release of grudges so through forgiveness healing can be achieved.
Now moving into Libra, the energy of the SN will require healing from past experiences related to various forms of injustice (Libra is all about fairness) we suffered especially caused by lovers, partners, spouses.
Through deep exploration of our inner world and life story we can identify various patterns, triggers and negative repetitive cycles that kept us unhappy and unsatisfied in relationships/marriage.
Next would be to commit to doing the inner work needed to heal and integrate the related parts of psychic content. Only then we can move on, achieve the healthy balance between being dedicated to another while remaining true to the authentic Self.
Anger management, taming impulses and cultivating courage and patience become a priority during this 18 months period.
The transition of the Lunar Nodes brings an impactful message to start new adventures, both inner and outer, not only because of the Aries Archetype involved but also through the New Moon in Cancer occurring on the day of the shift. The opposition between the Moon and Pluto makes this event all the more intense and transformative!
